Primary Postgraduate Initial Teacher Education (Primary PG ITE) Mentor Training

The Primary PG ITE Mentor Curriculum

The mentor curriculum has been designed to support you in your role as a Reading Partnership mentor. There are a few core sessions if you have a RPT for a placement, all others are optional but available should you wish to complete them. For any modules completed, please ensure you complete the form to show engagement as this year, there will be funding available to claim directly from the DfE at the end of the year for each module completed and your forms will demonstrate engagement and completion. For those who complete all the training, we will be able to award you Mentor Certification at the end of the year.

If you plan to complete all the modules for Mentor Certification, please complete the Mentor Prior Knowledge form. This is matched to the full curriculum and will enable you to still receive your full certification without necessarily completing all the modules. Our Lead Mentors will be in touch to let you know which modules you do not need to complete.

*  Please note, certificated mentors are those who gained our new certification in 2024-25 or who held Level 3 certification under our old scheme. Alternatively, if you have completed training as an ECT mentor, or gained an NPQLTD or completed mentor training in 2024-25 with another ITE provider, then you are certificated via that route.
