Ultra-red is an international political sound art collective, formed in 1994 and active in Europe and North America. Over the past twenty-five years Ultra-red has worked within and across a widely distributed network of communities organising around public housing, health, education, queer politics, anti-racism and migration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Using pedagogical methods of listening to interrogate social conditions, struggle and other modes of collective process, Ultra-red’s work questions given binary divisions between the aesthetic and the political.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ultra-red studies, develops, and tests procedures for collective listening that contribute directly to political struggles. Ultra-red draw on the traditions of musique concr\u00e8te, conceptualism, popular education, and militant inquiry in their development of protocols for organized listening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
